The Frisco and Double Frisco are the only burgers on the Hardee's menu served on bread instead of a bun. They come on toasted sourdough.

Inside is a quarter-pound Angus patty, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato and mayo. There's no lettuce, onion or pickle.

The toasted bread and melted Swiss make it eat more like a patty melt than a typical drive-thru burger.

The single Frisco costs $6.99. The Double Frisco costs $7.99, so the second patty adds $1.00.

The Frisco Combo is $9.59, and the Double Frisco Combo is $10.99. The double combo is the most expensive burger meal on the menu.

Compared with the Bacon Cheeseburger ($6.49), the Frisco costs $0.50 more. You trade lettuce and onion for Swiss and sourdough.

The single Frisco has 740 calories, 48g of fat and 38g of protein, per Hardee's nutrition guide. Sodium is 1,500mg.

The Double Frisco jumps to 1,020 calories, 69g of fat and 59g of protein. Sodium rises to 1,990mg.

The buttered, toasted bread is part of why it runs heavier than the Famous Star, which has 580 calories.

Order the Frisco if you like grilled sandwiches or patty melts. It's a good pick when a regular burger feels routine.

Skip it if you want fresh crunch. The lack of lettuce and onion makes it rich and soft.
