The Super Sausage Biscuit stacks two grilled sausage patties, two slices of American cheese and an egg on a scratch biscuit.

It's built for a big appetite. At 245 grams, it outweighs every other biscuit in Hardee's nutrition guide except the Monster Biscuit (266g).

Hardee's nutrition guide lists 880 calories, more than any other biscuit sandwich in it. That beats even the Monster Biscuit at 800.

Fat is the big number: 64g total and 27g saturated. The saturated fat alone is above the 20g Daily Value on U.S. food labels.

The Sausage & Egg Biscuit costs $4.29. For $0.20 more, the Super version adds a second patty and two slices of cheese, and protein jumps from 19g to 30g.

The combo is harder to defend. At $8.99, Hash Rounds and a drink add $4.50, more than double the $2.00 most biscuit combos charge.

A lighter fix: pair the sandwich with Grits ($1.99, 100 calories). You save money and skip about 140 calories of Hash Rounds.

Two plain Sausage Biscuits cost $6.98 and give you two patties as well. By the guide, that's 1,060 calories and 26g of protein.

One Super Sausage Biscuit costs $2.49 less, has 180 fewer calories and 4g more protein, thanks to the egg and cheese.

Unless you're sharing, the Super is the smarter way to get double sausage.
